The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria( PFN) has warned Kwara State Governor, Abdul-Raman Abdulrasaq not to set the country on fire with the Hijab crisis currently raging in the state.

Penpushing reports that the fellowship gave the warning at Cornerstone City, Ibadan, through its President, Bishop Wale Oke while separately playing host to the Ekiti and Ondo Chapters of the Fellowship led by Bishop Clement Abifade and Bishop Joshua Kolawole Opayinka.

The President said that if the Hijab issue is not handled with care, it could spark major crisis in the country, lamenting that most of the nation’s travails, were self-inflicted,and  warned the Kwara State Governor to avoid playing religious and divisive politics that can set the nation on fire.

Penpushing further reports that, Oke emphasised that no amount of intimidation could bury the Christians, stressing, “the governor should bring everybody together; don’t force hijab on our people because they won’t back down’.

The Pentecostal boss, however, urged Christians in the state and across the federation not to take laws into their hands, saying that though they have the right to protest but the protest should not leads to violence.

Penpushing reports that, he therefore called on them to be prayerful, adding that they should make themselves available for dialogue when ever government called on them.

The cleric who is also the Presiding Bishop of Sword of the Spirit Ministries and the Proprietor of the Precious Cornerstone University (PCU) Ibadan, decried the attempted assassination of the Benue State Governor, Dr Samuel Ortom, noting it showed the level of security degeneration in the country.

Penpushing also reports that earlier in their separate remarks, the Ekiti State Chairman, Bishop Clement Abifade and his Ondo State counterpart, Bishop Joshua Opayinka, had pledged their loyalty to the new leadership of Bishop Francis Wale Oke.
