The youth leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area of Enugu State, identified as Lucky Idoko, who hailed from Unadu, a community in the council area has been shot dead.
Penpushing reports that, the politician who represented the community as a councilor and the chairman of a local vigilante group, was shot dead in the community on Saturday, while travelling on a commercial motorcycle.
The motorcyclist conveying him was said to have escaped unhurt, while sources said there were speculations in the community that the incident must have been an assassination, but the police said it has launched an investigation into the incident
Penpushing further reports that, Enugu State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Daniel Ndukwe, when contacted confirmed the sad incident, affirming that the authorities have commenced investigation
Meanwhile, the killing of the party youth leader occurred hours before gunmen attacked Inyi Police Divisional Headquarters in Oji River Local Government Area of the state, where two persons, including a police officer, were killed in the attack on the police facility.
