Gunmen have abducted the Chairman of Ekiti State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State, Paul Omotoso after he was attacked while driving along the Agbado Ekiti-Imesi Ekiti Road on Saturday.
Penpushing reports that the Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in in the state Segun Dipe, confirmed the development to journalists, adding that the victim was abducted while driving on the road.
‘The chairman was driving in a Venza car along the road when the bandit shot at one of the tyres of the car. He was taken into a Toyota Hilux van and driven off. He was alone in the car when the incident happened, according to the information we have’, Dipe said.
Penpushing further reports that the party Publicity Secretary said the incident happened on Saturday evening, while information reached the party at about 6 p.m, adding that the security agencies which include police and Amotekun have been alerted and they are all working on it.
The Ekiti State Police Command as at the time of filing this report was yet to issue a formal statement on the kidnap, while the command Public Relations Officer Sunday Abutu, said he would speak on the issue as soon as he receives clear information on the kidnap incident.
