Gunmen on Sunday invaded St Francis Catholic Church in Owo town of Ondo State killing scores of worshippers and others sustaining various degrees of injuries.
Penpushing reports that the, the attack was launched by the gunmen while service was said to be on going, while as at the time of filing this report, the injured have been rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, for treatment.
The number of the dead was yet to be ascertained as at the time of this report, but sources put the figure at 30, with many of them said to be children who followed their parents to worship at the church.
Penpushing further reports that, video on the attack which adorned the social media showed some of the victims in pool of blood as residents were seen crying profusely over the sad development.
The Ondo State Police Command Public Relations Officer,Funmilayo Odunlami, was yet to make any official statenent or reaction as at the time of filing this report.
