Gunmen have abducted a Medical Doctor and two female employees of the hospital, which also include a caregiver and a ward attendant said to be travelling with him around Mashayar Zaki community on the Magami – Dansadau road of Zamfara State.
Penpushing reports that, Chairman of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), in the State Dr Manir Bature confirmed the abduction of his colleague, Dr Muhammad Mansur, and the other victims by the bandits
“We’re disturbed because this is an ugly trend. We urge our members to include him and other abductees in our prayers while the association work with relevant authorities to ensure his timely release in good health’ Bature said.
Penpushing further reports that, in a related development the pregnant wife of the chairman of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Comrade Sanusi Isa, has also been kidnapped by the bandits in a separate operation.
The Chairman, while speaking with journalists in in Gusau said the bandits attacked his residence in the Damba area of the state capital around 1.23 a.m. on Tuesday and abducted his 9-month pregnant wife, stating that he was of the conviction that, he was the target of the bandits, having being looking for him on arrival at his home.
“They jumped over the wall and broke my door but before they could enter my room, I was able to hide somewhere. When they searched the house and could not see me, they abducted my pregnant wife, Ramatu,” he said.
Penpushing also reports that, as at the time of filing this report, the Zamfara State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Mohammed Shehu, was yet to make any official statement on the ugly development.
