The sister of former Minister of Power and All Progressive Congress governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Adebayo Adelabu, and her twin children have been allegedly kidnapped in Ibadan, Oyo State Capital
Penpushing reports that a circulating video on social media on Wednesday in the Challenge area of Ibadan South-West Local Government Area of the state, captured the scene where crowd gathered round a red sedan with its doors flung open and visible damage to the bodywork.
The window glass of the driver’s seat was observed smashed, with fragments scattered on the dusty ground, while crowd of onlookers, were seen inspecting its interior and exterior and heard saying the victims include Adelabu’s sister and her twin sons
Penpushing further reports that a woman was heard in the video crying out loud that that the woman is the younger sister of Adelabu popularly called Penkelemesi’, a nickname inherited from his late politician father, while another male voice said the woman is the last-born of the family
The former media aide of Adelabu, Femi Awogboro, was quoted to have confirmed the incident, adding that both mother and the two children were kidnapped by unknown gunmen at Elewura, Challenge, Ibadan
“Adelabu’s younger sister, together with her twins (Peter and Paul), were kidnapped this morning (Wednesday) by unknown gunmen at Elewura, Challenge, Ibadan. The family members were going out this morning from Elewura to link the expressway when they were attacked and whisked away by the unknown kidnappers’, he was quoted saying
Penpushing also reports that Oyo State Police Command Public Relations Officer Reacting, Olayinka Ayanlade, as at the time of filing this report said he cannot independently verified the incident, assuring that he would find out
