The former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Prof Charles Soludo has won the governorship seat in Anambra state under the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA).

The Returning Officer of the Anambra Governorship Election, Prof Florence Obi, announced the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA) as elected governor after a supplementary election held in Ihiala Local Government Area of the state on Tuesday.
The 61 year old politician became the number one citizen of the state having scored 112,229 votes to defeat his arch rival Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), who recorded 53,807 votes, while Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress(APC) polled 43,285 votes and Ifeanyi Ubah of the Young Progressive Party(YPP) recorded 21,261 votes.
Penpushing further reports that, Soludo is expected to be sworn in by March, 2022 after the expiration of the two term tenure of the incumbent governor, Willie Obiano who also became the governor under the banner of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA)
