A man identified as Marcel Udeh who hails from Eziama Lokpa-Ukwu, a community in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State has allegedly killed his son for eating up the last portion of food in their family’s kitchen.

Penpushing reports that sources from the community said the man who is in police net as at time of filing this report was said to have been angered over the son’s action, and consequently brought out a rifle and allegedly shot the son dead.

The sources which disclosed that the incident happened Monday night said the victim returned home and consumed the last portion of food in a pot inside the family’s kitchen, shortly after the man committed the crime he was apprehended by residents.

Penpushing further reports that the suspect’s hands and legs were tied, apparently to avoid escape from the community, as number of the residents expressed shock over the action of the father, who was said to be was a handiwork of the devil.

The Abia State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Maureen Chinaka when contacted confirmed the killing of the boy whose identity could not be established as at the time of this report, but believe to be in his twenties.

Penpushing also reports that Chinaka, an assistant superintendent of police, said the incident was reported at the Umunneochi Police Divisional Headquarters, and thereafter transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation and will be charged to court afterwards
