A Principal Executive Officer of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Anambra State, Duruocha Osita Joel has been allegedly murdered by suspected killers .
Penpushing reports that the Administrative Secretary of the commission, Okwuonu Jude had earlier on Wednesday, 28th September 2022, reported that the staff, who was a Principal Executive Officer II on Grade Level 10 was missing
The National Commissioner and Chairman,Information and Voter Education Committee of the commission, Festus Okoye, however, on Friday said the development turned sad when information was received that the corpse of the staffer was found along Isu-Aniocha-Urum road where it was dumped by unknown persons
“On Thursday, 29th September, the Administrative Secretary further informed the Commission that Mr. Duruocha’s dead body was found along Isu-Aniocha-Urum road in Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State, where unknown persons dumped him, Okoye stated
Penpushing further reports that, the statement said the police and other security agencies have been informed, adding that the corpse had being deposited in the morgue and investigation commenced as at the time of filing this report
“Other staff members of the commission, Duruocha’s brother and the police have evacuated the body and deposited same in the morgue. The police and other security agencies have commenced an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to Duruocha’s disappearance and eventual death” Okoye said
