A group known as Egba Descendants Union has bought the N20 million nomination form for Senator Gbenga Obadara to contest the Ogun Central Senatorial District under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming election.
Penpushing reports that the body tagged, Egbe Omo Egba Parapo presented the nomination and expression of interest form on Wednesday to the Chairman, Senate Commitee on Privatisation in the Seventh Assembly, in  Abeokuta,Ogun State Capital.
The group explained that the gesture was as a result of Obadara”s  antecedents when he was in the Senate between 2011-2015,  which the body said were exceptional, stressing that  in the history of Egbaland nobody in the Senate have ever matched his records in all deliverables either in monumental projects, entrepreneurial skills empowerments and raising of the standards of living of people across the six local governments of Ogun Central Senatorial District.
Penpushing further reports that the Egbe Omo Egba Parapo declared that in view of these records, members have decided to support and team up with him ,stressing that Obadara”s emergence as Senator in 2023,will bring further development to the zone.
The group emphasized that, its committed to mobilizing  the electorates to return him to the Senate in 2023,because of his ranking status as veteran federal lawmaker, compare with a new comer at the national assembly
“Also part of the reasons why we considered to choose him is the opportunity of more developmental projects because of the ranking status he will get as old Senator which new person will not get as he will be there as a newcomer who will have to be a learner for at least 3years”, the group stated.
“Based on that we decided to be forward looking and ready to work for the progress of entire Egbaland through the return of Senator Gbenga Obadara to the Senate in 2023 through his party All Progressives Congress”, the body emphasized.
Penpushing reports that, in his response, the aspirant commended the Egba Descendant Union, friends and well-wishers, promising to deliver more dividends of democracy to all wards in Ogun Central Senatorial District, Ogun state in general and Nigeria as a whole just like he did, in the Seventh Assembly.
The proprietor of Sweet FM radio station while  seeking people’s support for his re-election, urged Ogun state residents to obtain their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) and participate In the upcoming 2023 elections as well as voting for all the candidates of All Progressives Congress(APC) across the State.
