The authorities of the suspended Dana airline on Thursday deceived passengers on promise to provide alternative arrangement for their journey from Abuja to Lagos on Thursday, as the passengers discovered that the promise was fake on arrival at the counter of the airline.

Penpushing reports that it is recalled that the Nigeria government announced suspension of the airline on Wednesday following Tuesday crash of the aircraft at the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Ikeja, Lagos State.

The management, in response to the suspension, however, sent messages to their customers who had earlier purchased tickets ahead of their trip on Thursday, assuring that alternative arrangement had been put in place and scheduled for 9.50am from Abuja airport enroute Lagos.

‘Dear Esteemed Customer, Dana Air regrets to inform you on the cancellation of your flight 9J354 from Abuja to Lagos on 25th April 2024 due to operational reasons. Available flight option from ABV-LOS is at 9.50 am same date. Our sincere apologies for the inconveniences caused as a result of this cancellation. For further information on rescheduling, please contact us via contact@flydanaair.com. WhatsApp 07051190363 or call 02012809888’, the message reads.

Penpushing further reports that following this message of ‘relief’, number of the airline passengers stormed the airport, with the hope of being provided the alternative means of air travel back to Lagos, and on arrival at the airport headed straight to Dana airline counter.

The passengers received shock of their lives as the staffers declared to them that, no alternative provision was made, instead the passengers should go and make case for refund, which was not also in sight as at the time of the disappointing development.

Penpushing also reports that, as tension was mounting up from the helpless passengers, the staffers of the embattled airline strategically moved away from the airport hall, as many of them thereafter disappeared to thin air.

The stranded passengers were seen lamenting over the ugly development, stressing that the management of the Dana airline, fooled them, adding that the airline authorities lack good public relations as well as being wicked.

‘Why should they send us message of alternative arrangement for us to fly back to Lagos, when they knew they could not afford that, many of us rushed down to the airport not to miss the 9.50am promised flight, and see what this idiot management turned us to’, a passenger said

Penpushing reports that the passengers’ plights got worsen when many of them approached other airlines to purchase new tickets at high prize of a minimum of N155,000 to fly from Abuja to Lagos, while others who could not afford such became helpless

The finding by Penpushing Media equally revealed that the provided telephone numbers on the message sent to customers were not accessible as no official of the airline picked the calls even after severally attempt to reach the management
