The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has thrown the embattled former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello to detention and being grilled ahead of his arraignment in court over alleged N110billion fraud.
Penpushing reports that Director, Media and Publicity of the commission Dele Oyewale was quoted to have confirmed that the earlier runaway former Governor, as at the time of filing this report was being questioned by the authorities within the establishment facility
The Director, Media and Publicity of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was further quoted saying on Tuesday that the former Governor who shunned a raft of court summons to face corruption charges will be arraigned in court as soon as possible.
Penpushing further reports that a judge, Justice Maryanne Anenih of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court, Abuja, where Bello was charged with diversion of N110 billion in Kogi State’s funds, had on November 14, 2024 fixed November 27, 2024 (Wednesday), for his (Bello’s) arraignment.
Meanwhile, the former Governor who had been shielded by his successor, Governor Usman Ododo for months, on Tuesday, eventually surrendered himself accompanied by his private security details to the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Abuja
