The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) has arrested one of its officers alleged to be responsible for leaked video of former Governor of of Anambra State,Willie Obiano who is currently in custody of the commission.

Penpushing reports that, Head Media and Publicity of the agency, Wilson Uwajaren made this known in a statement, but was silence on the identity of alleged offender of the crime, considered as unprofessional.

The agency spokesman while reacting to the development on Monday, pointed out that the leaked video was against its operational guidelines, adding that as at the time of filing this report, the officer in question is facing appropriate disciplinary action, but did not disclose nature of the disciplinary action.

“The attention of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has been drawn to a trending video showing the former Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, in the custody of the commission”, the statement said

“The commission wishes to distance itself from the said video which is completely at variance with the established Standard Operating Procedure of the EFCC.

“The discreet investigation ordered upon discovery of the leak has revealed the errant officer behind the odious act and he is currently being subjected to appropriate disciplinary action.”
