A Federal High Court sitting in Jalingo, Taraba State has sacked the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, and ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a fresh election within 14 days.

Penpushing reports that, Justice Simon Amobeda who gave the judgement on Tuesday also ordered the electoral commission to henceforth stop the recognition of Bwacha, a senator representing Taraba South,  as the candidate of the party.

The court in the judgement added that, Bwacha should desist from parading himself as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Penpushing further reports that, the sack of Bwacha was the outcome of a petition by one of the aspirants, David Kente, and others to court alleging that the party did not conduct a valid governorship primary election in the state

The judge ruled that all the result sheets couldn’t be written in the same writing, with conviction that the returning officer who declared that no primary was held in the state and that the electoral officer was at a police headquarters due to security threats.

Penpushing also reports that the declaration of the governorship primary result was allegedly made at the Jalingo airport in favour of Bwacha, while it is recalled that the primary election of the party was marred by in-fighting.

Meanwhile, the electoral officials, billed to conduct the primary election, it is recalled were taken to the headquarters of the Taraba State Police Command after some members of the party tried to mob them.
