President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday received the duo of Gbenga Daniel(former Ogun State Governor) and Dimeji Bankole(former Speaker of the House of Representatives) who recently defected from their troubled Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC)
Penpushing reports that both Daniel and Bankole were led to the President by the Caretaker Chairperson of All Peoples Congress (APC) Mai Mala-Buni, who is also the Governor of Yobe State.
The former Governor ruled Ogun State between 2003 to 2011 under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), while Bankole was also elected as Speaker of House of Representatives between 2007-2011 under the banner of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
Penpushing further reports that, Daniel in 2019 election, was the campaign manager for Atiku Abubakar who was then contesting for the presidency under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), while Bankole on his own part contested that the governorship election in Ogun State on the platform of Action Democratic Party (ADP).
Meanwhile, the entourage also include Governors of Jigawa State, Mohammed Badaru and Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu.
