Me and my wife and the Victory Life Bible Church has a long standing relationship with the enigma, the man with a lion heart, Pastor Tunde Bakare, one of the rare gift of God to Nigeria and to the world, a man of impeccable character , a true lover of our nation and her people.
Love Pastor Bakare or hate him, one thing is, he is not your regular kind of man or Pastor. Understand him or misunderstand him, he remains like an Iroko tree …standing same spot you met him. He will bend when he errs, he is a thinker, a planner, very calculative, chooses his words carefully, futuristic and very present.
Nigeria needs more type of Pastor Tunde Bakare. I told my wife, let’s go and see him which we do whenever we want to and the breakfast is always rich but the lectures from Genesis to revelation; Lagos to Sokoto are life nuggets and you will not know when time flies because they are life lessons .( oh I forgot something I was to take from him). A man not moved by the voice of charlatans and mischief makers.
You don’t meet Pastor Bakare and remain the same, there will be a rethink, relearn and learn, you leave with deeper understanding and things to do and social shift. It’s always my pleasure to visit Pastor Bakare, because its always a school ( next time I will go with a tape recorder). I told him ” I will go and say all you are saying o ” he said ” go and talk am not lying ”
A man in whom there’s no guile, a voice of the voiceless, a true leader and passionate to the cause of Nigerian Greatness, a true believer in the Nigerian dream. He, sometimes, to drive the point will stand, adjust his glasses etc You may not understand Pastor Bakare but he is Pastor Tunde Bakare, you may call him a rebel with a cause and you will not be wrong. If you understand him, you are right and if you don’t understand him, you are right and it’s not your fault.
