Boat mishap: Family announces May 17 as Junior Pope’s burial

The Nollywood actor, John Paul Odonwodo, popularly called Junior Pope who died April 10, 2024, in a boat mishap in Anam River, Anambra State while on his way back alongside others from a location where they had gone to shoot a movie is to be buried on Friday May 17, 2024 at his country home.

Penpushing reports that the family disclosed this in a statement by Divine Odonwodo on behalf of the family, explaining that burial arrangements began on 23 April with a requiem mass at Saint John-Mary Vianney Parish, Asaba, Delta State

The burial programme as contained in a poster added that another requiem mass will be held at Christ the King Catholic Parish, Government Reservation Area(GRA), Enugu on May 13, 2024, while on  May 16,, there will be a wake at deceased country home in Uwala Abaka, Ukehe, a community in Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of the state.

Penpushing further the arrangement has it that on May 14, an evening of tributes and candle light will follow at Amadeo Event Centre in Enugu from 5 p.m, adding that the burial arrangements will be wrapped up with a thanksgiving mass at the Saint Peter’s Catholic Church, Ukehe, on May 20, 2024.

Meanwhile, the ill-fated boat, it is recalled was boarded by twelve individuals while only seven were rescued alive and five died, including Odonwodo, a renowned Nollywood actor, popularly called Junior Pope
