The bandits have again struck killing four people and abducting 50 others in Goran Namaye community located in the Maradun local government area of Zamfara State after a five hours operation on Monday morning
Penpushing reports that, a resident of Bakura, which is close to Goran Namaye, Hamza Bakura in his account said the bandits launched the attack from 1 a.m, adding that immediately they entered the community started shooting sporadically
The resident added that, most of the people killed were slaughtered, not shot, stressing that when security operatives arrived at the village at about 4 a.m., the bandits engaged them in a fierce gun duel.
Penpushing further reports that, another resident of Talata Mafara, Mudassir Muhammad in his own narration declared that those abducted were more than 70, adding that in their home over 50 people took refuge because of the attack .
“In our house (in Mafara), they are over 50 people taking refuge because of the attack. It was terrible because some of them trekked to Mafara from Gora in the morning. I am sure you know the distance,” he said.
Penpushing also reports that, the Zamfara Police Command Public Relations Officer Mohammed Shehu, said the bandits killed four people and abducted 50 in the attack, adding that, the Commissioner of Police, Yakubu Elkana, had ordered immediate search and rescue operations for the victims.
