The Chairmanship Candidate of Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Abeokuta South local government area of Ogun State Chief Olalekan Shoyinka, popularly called Ayinla Egba has pulled out from the party.
Penpushing reports that he made this known in a statement explaining that his next line of action alongside his teeming supporters will be made public in due course, adding that he took the decision after thorough consultations with his inner circle, respected stakeholders, and voices of wisdom across the 15 wards of the council area.
The broadcast journalist turned politician thanked the people of Abeokuta South local government for their unwavering support throughout his political journey—especially before, during, and after the last local government elections in Ogun State.

‘I remain grateful for the encouragement I have received from progressive-minded individuals who believe in supporting political leaders based on principles, not personal gain, Shoyinka added.
‘Equally, I acknowledge those who still view financial inducements as a determinant in their political choices. I understand the realities we face, and I respect the diverse opinions across our political landscape’, he said.
Penpushing further reports that Shoyinka stated that since the last election, he has received numerous calls from well-meaning individuals and committed supporters asking about the future of his political movement.
The former chairmanship candidate said his consistent response was that time will tell, hence, need to bring a significant update, which is resolve to quit the Action Democratic Party (ADP).
‘After thorough consultations with my inner circle, respected stakeholders, and voices of wisdom across the 15 wards of Abeokuta South Local Government, I, Chief Olalekan A. Shoyinka (Ayinla Egba), alongside members of the Ayinla Egba Movement, have officially withdrawn our membership from the Action Democratic Party (ADP)’, he wrote.

Penpushing also reports that he said the decision has been formally communicated to the leadership of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), stressing that he believe they will accept his exit in good faith, as it has become evident that his vision and ideology no longer align with those of the party.
‘Our next political direction will be made public once consultations are concluded with key stakeholders. Let it be known that we are not desperate to form new alliances or join forces with entities that do not reflect our values. We will not be swayed by popular trends or join the bandwagon simply for convenience’, Shoyinka emphasised.
Penpushing reports that he explained that his focus remains clear: to align with individuals and institutions committed to integrity, development, and the long-term good of the people, adding that as part of his commitment to a renew political vision, the Ayinla Egba Movement has undergone a strategic transformation.

We seek patriots—men and women willing to make selfless sacrifices today for a brighter and more secure future for our children. The change we desire must begin with us’, he stated.
