The President- General of Ogun State Muslim Council, Oba Sikiru Adetona, has congratulated Muslim Community of the state and beyond on the occasion of Eid-el- Maulud.
Penpushing reports that, Adetona, who is the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland sent the congratulatory message to commemorate the occasion and charged Muslim faithful to embrace the Prophetic way of life.
The monarch said these include being faithful, truthful, honest, kind and patriotic in their undertakings for societal growth and development, noting that the Maulud Nabiyyi is coming on the heels of the 61st Anniversary of the nation’s Independence.
Penpushing further reports the council leader implored adherents of the faith to be patriotic and remain committed to the course of nation building, stressing that Nigeria project requires sacrifice, perseverance, obedience, equity, justice, good neighbourliness and patriotism.
The royal father called for attitudinal change, a re-orientation and high patriotism on the part of both the nation’s leaders and citizens, as he equally impored Nigerians and sections of the country claiming to have been wronged to pursue legitimate means in seeking redress and eschew violence and uncivilized way in order not to undermine the collective march to progress.
Penpushing reports the message signed by Alhaji Kamaldeen Akintunde, Secretary- General Ogun State Muslim Council charged the political class to safeguard the nation’s fast growing democracy by rising above sentiments and place general interest above personal concerns for the growth and development of the country.
