The indigenes of Ado-Odo in Ado-Odo/Ota local government area of Ogun State have passionately called on Governor Dapo Abiodun to consider appointing one of their kinsmen as the rector of Ogun State Institutive of Technology, Igbesa

Penpushing reports that the appeal letter was written by Olofin Council of Chiefs on behalf of the entire Ado-Odo people and environs which was handed over to the Governor during his campaign to the zone, adding that doing so will provide commitment for the developmental growth of the institution.

The letter said findings showed that this gestures have been done in some other zones, with the indigene(s) appointed to head institutions, adding that from records available they also have capable and academically qualified indigenes who can head the institution.

Penpushing further reports that the letter signed by Ajiroba of Ado Kingdom, Chief Ramon Ogunsola said the indigenes would appreciate if the Governor can make them happy to consider the request and appeal in the interest of the entire community and state

The Olofin Council of Chiefs expressed appreciation to the Governor for extending hand of unflinching support in area of human and physical development witness in their ancient community in recent time, and assured him of maximum votes for his second term ambition

‘The entire Ado-Odo Kingdom and its environs sincerely appreciate your Excellency for extending hand of unflinching support in area of human and physical development witness in our dear ancient community in recent time. We say thank you greatly sir and kindly be rest assured of our maximum vote in this coming election for you in particular and your retinue in general sir’, the letter reads.

‘Your Excellency sir, without mincing words sir, it is a known fact that Ado-Odo is  bounded with Lagos State and Republic of Benin with access transport by road and by river wish Ogun State will benefit greatly’.

Penpushing also reports that investigation, however, showed that the immediate past Rector of the institution is of Yewa stock and she held the position for eight years, consequently, the Aworis loathe the deliberate effort of the institution’s Governing Council to bring in another Yewa person based on the manipulated procedures adopted during the interview held on August 19th 2022 for the four shortlisted candidates.

The finding equally revealed that Aworis considered as disquieting the Council’s decision to sidetrack part of the terms and conditions of the advertisement for the position which states that applicants’ qualifications must have been obtained in certain academic disciplines viz: Technology, Applied Sciences and Commerce and Management in order to favour the Yewa candidate.

Penpushing reports that the investigation also showed that this decision was considered a contravention of the new Polytechnic Act which regulates appointive positions in all Nigerian Polytechnics.

The community  in similar vein said as a way to generate targeted huge Internally Revenue for the State, the Governor should create an access Mini Port at Ere /Odo-Ito in Ado Odo Ogun State to compliment Badagry Port in Lagos State.

Penpushing further reports that the other requests include construction of Low Cost Housing Estate at Ikoga Ado-Odo that bounded with Badagry Local Government, Lagos State, construction of Ado-Odo Ikoga Road for inter-states easy access of goods and services and establishment of  Awori Traditional Council and make Olofin Adimula of Ado Kingdom as the most senior Oba in entire Awori the Paramount Ruler.

Penpushing also reports that they equally demanded for construction of a Modern Olofin Palace for the traditional council, effective usage of the abandoned model college to any meaningful institution, extension of industries or companies to Ado-Odo due to her vast land and access road, and release parts of government accusation land to the Kingdom for the community extension

‘Without mincing words, the proposed projects will hugely increase the Internally General Revenue of Ogun State ditto the population and equally enhance the community. Once again!, kindly be rest assured of our maximum support as we wish you success in your second term election’, Ogunsola wrote
