The Court of Appeal sitting in Ibadan, on Monday set aside a judgment of the Federal High Court, Abeokuta, ordering the conduct of fresh primaries by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ogun State Chapter.
Penpushing reports that Justice Folasade Ojo of the appeal court in his judgement in an appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), against the earlier judgement of the Federal High Court, declared that, the lower court was wrong in its judgement
The court emphasized that it is only the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is vested with the power to conduct primaries, and therefore set aside the ruling of the Federal High Court.
Penpushing further reports that, it is recalled that, on 27th September, 2022, Justice O O Oguntoyin of the high court, directed the State Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to conduct fresh primaries within 14 days.

Penpushing also reports that, the factions have continued to lay claim to the governorship ticket of the party ahead of the forthcoming 2023 general election, while as at the time of filing this report, there is still another pending judgement fixed for December 1, 2022 by the Federal High Court.
