The Managing Director of ANOH Gas Processing Company (AGPC), Mr. James Makinde, has reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting Nigeria’s energy security and gas-driven economic growth.

Penpushing reports that Makinde leading a senior management delegation on a recent visit to the Special Adviser to the President on Energy, Mrs. Olu Verheijen, provided strategic updates on the performance of the company’s gas processing plant, one of Nigeria’s flagship gas infrastructure projects

The discussions centered on the plant’s operational performance, its contribution to the domestic gas market, and its role in advancing the Federal Government’s Decade of Gas initiative and broader energy transition objectives.

Penpushing further reports that ANOH Gas Processing Company (AGPC), a 50:50 incorporated joint venture between Seplat Energy Plc and the Nigerian Gas Infrastructure Company Limited (NGIC), a subsidiary of NNPC Limited, was established to develop and operate the ANOH gas processing plant, located in Imo State.

The Managing Director informed the Presidential Adviser that the facility, which is designed to process approximately 300 million standard cubic feet of wet gas per day (300 MMscfd) from the ANOH field in OML 53, has successfully transitioned into commercial operations and is steadily ramping up production.

Penpushing also reports that he noted that, since commissioning, the plant has continued to demonstrate stable, safe and reliable operations and is currently processing approximately 150 MMscfd during its initial stabilisation phase, with a clear roadmap towards achieving its full design capacity.

“The successful start-up and continued ramp-up of the ANOH gas processing plant represent a significant milestone, not only for AGPC but also for Nigeria’s aspiration to unlock its vast gas resources for industrialisation, power generation and economic development,” Makinde stated.

Penpushing reports that Makinde further highlighted the plant’s growing contribution to both domestic and export-oriented gas markets, explaining that processed gas is currently supplied to the Indorama Petrochemical Plant in Rivers State to support industrial activities.

The Managing Director added that additional volumes are transported through the OB3 gas pipeline infrastructure for delivery to Nigeria LNG, thereby strengthening the nation’s integrated gas value chain.

Penpushing also reports that the ANOH gas processing plant also plays a pivotal role in strengthening Nigeria’s gas transmission network through its connection to the OB3 pipeline system, enabling wider distribution of processed gas to power generation companies and industrial customers across the country.

The company reiterated its unwavering commitment to operational excellence, world-class health, safety and environmental standards, regulatory compliance, Nigerian content development and sustainable stakeholder engagement.

Penpushing reports that ANOH Gas Processing Company (AGPC), equally reaffirmed its dedication to creating long-term value for its shareholders, host communities and the Nigerian economy.

The company said that it remains strategically positioned as a key enabler of Nigeria’s gas-powered future, supporting the nation’s ambition to drive industrialisation, improve energy access and foster sustainable economic development through the responsible utilisation of its abundant natural gas resources.

Penpushing further reports that responding, Verheijen commended the company for the successful delivery and operation of the project, describing the plant as a strategic national asset that aligns with the Nigerian government’s vision of leveraging natural gas as a catalyst for economic diversification, industrial growth and improved energy security.

The statement said she reaffirmed the Nigerian Government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for investments that expand gas infrastructure, deepen domestic gas utilisation and enhance the country’s competitiveness in the global energy landscape.
