The Ogun State Security Network, codenamed Amotekun on Sunday shot dead a member of robbery gang and arrested another who was an ex-convict who just been released from prison precisely a week ago, and gang member operating on the Odogbolu corridor of the Lagos Benin Expressway, within the axis of the State.

Penpushing reports that the Corps Commander, Brigadier General Alade Adedigba (rtd) made this known in a statement explaining that the ex-convict identified as Amechie Okoro, was arrested during a gun duel with the amotekun operatives .

The statement added that the arrested suspect later led the corps to the gang hideout, which subsequently pave way to the arrest of another gang member, who had earlier escaped from the crime scene.

Penpushing further reports that the statement said Okoro during interrogation, confessed to have just been released from Ikoyi prison last week Monday, while Micheal Oko said it was the ring leader called Awuha that initiated him into the group.

The Corps Commander said the arrested robbers are members of the armed gang terrorising the Odogbolu Axis of Lagos-Benin Expressway,adding that items recovered from them include 1 motorcycle with plate number Lagos KTU 668, Twelve different types of phones, 2 locally made pistols, N113,50,1 silver wrist watch, and one 1 red head phone

Penpushing also reports that Adedigba said the arrested robbers, Oko hails from Anambra State, but lives at number 3, Olufuwa Street Ago Iwoye while Okoro who stayed at Agric in Ikorodu, Lagos State and just released from Prison, hails from Onitsha, Anambra State.

The Corps Commander disclosed the corpse of suspect gunned down had been evacuated by the police, and that those arrested will be transferred to the police for further investigation and prosecution.
