The United States of America (USA) has deported a Nigerian national, Ayodeji Ajayi, following multiple criminal convictions, including domestic violence, as part of its ongoing immigration enforcement efforts.
Penpushing reports that the American Immigration and Customs Enforcement made this known in a statement posted on its official X account on Tuesday, explaining that Ajayi had remained in the country illegally after entering on a student visa nearly two decades ago.
The agency stated that Ajayi entered the United States of America (USA), in 2007 on a student visa and eventually left school, but failed to leave the country, adding that instead of departing the country after leaving school, he accumulated a lengthy criminal record.
“Ayodeji Olamide Ajayi, of Nigeria, entered the United States in 2007 on a student visa and eventually left school, but failed to leave the country. Instead, he stayed in the US and got to work on a lengthy rap sheet” that includes convictions for domestic violence, trespassing, intimidation and obstruction.
Penpushing further reports that the agency added that his criminal history also includes charges of kidnapping, rape and family neglect, attributing the deportation to the immigration enforcement policies of President Donald Trump.
The agency, disclosed that Ajayi’s deportation comes amid the Trump administration’s continued crackdown on undocumented immigrants with criminal records, with immigration authorities stepping up enforcement actions and removals across the United States.
