The activist and nurse, Olamide Thomas, who was detained on cyberbullying and charged for the curses she rained last October via a Facebook live video on President Bola Tinubu, his son Seyi Tinubu, Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, and Force Public Relations Officer Muyiwa Adejobi, on Thursday met her bail conditions to leave Suleja prison, Niger State.

Penpushing reports that it is recalled that the Federal High Court in Abuja ordered her detained in Suleja prison following her arraignment on three counts of cyberbullying on December 20, 2024, and subsequently granted her bail on January 6,2025

The defendant could not meet up with the bail condition until Thursday when she subsequently regained freedom which was confirmed by her lawyer Seprebofa Oyeghe, adding that as at the time of filing this report he had left Suleja Custodial with his client

Penpushing further reports that it is recalled that Thomas was arrested by the police on Friday December 13, 2024 in Lagos over allegations of cursing and wishing death upon President, his son as well as the children of the Inspector General of Police and the Force Public Relations Officer.

The police subsequently transferred her to the National Cyber-Crime Centre (NCCC) in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for further interrogation and subsequent prosecution with three counts of cyberbullying.

Penpushing also reports that in one of the counts, the prosecution alleged that Thomas, during her video transmission, made remarks in Yoruba that included placing curses on Seyi Tinubu, wishing him death, and predicting calamity for the Tinubu family within the year.

The charge added that these comments were made with intent to bully, threaten, and harass the person of Seyi Tinubu, adding that such communication places the said Seyi in fear of death, violence, or bodily harm.

Penpushing reports that the second count in similar vein, police accused her of bullying, threatening, and harassing Egbetokun in the same video transmission, causing him to fear death, violence, or bodily harm.

The third count, alleged that Thomas made curses directed at Adejobi, claiming his children would die before his eyes and that he would bury all his children in a single day, while the charge emphasized that these comments were also made with intent to bully, threaten, and harass the person of Adejobi, adding that such communication places him in fear of the death of his loved ones.

Penpushing further reports that the defendant had live-streamed the video on her Facebook page on October 20, 2024, shortly after she was reportedly brutalised by police officers during the #EndSARS memorial procession at the Lekki Tollgate, Lagos State

The prosecution said each of the three counts was contrary to and punishable under section 24 (2) (a) Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc, Amendment) Act, 2024, but Thomas pleaded not guilty to all three counts during her arraignment on December 20, 2024.
