The All Progressive Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Jigawa South West District of Jigawa State, Tijjani Ibrahim, has died on Saturday at  a Chinese hospital, while been treated for a lung infection, and was earlier said to be receiving treatment  at an Abuja hospital from where he was flown to China for further  medications when his condition deteriorated.

Penpushing reports that, the politician died barely three months after he won the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial ticket for his zone where he polled 361 votes, and was the lone contestant in the election.

The deceased, whose 70 year old mother was kidnapped sometime ago and later released represented Dutse/Kiyawa federal constituency in the House of Representatives between 2011 to 2015, and left behind a wife, an aged mother and many children.

Penpushing further reports that, Jigawa State Governor Muhammad Badaru in a condolence message by his media aide, Habibu Kila said he has lost a dependable ally, describing the death as a great loss not only to his family but to the Muslim Ummah.

The statement described the deceased as a loyal and dependable politician who contributed immensely to the political development of the country, and prayed to God to grant the deceased eternal rest and grant his family the fortitude to bear the loss.

Penpushing also reports that a family source said the funeral prayer of the deceased will be held at Kiyawa town on Sunday at 4:00 p.m.
