The Governorship Candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, on Thursday arrived in Osogbo, the state capital with heavy security convoys and party supporters, ahead of Saturday’s election.
Penpushing reports that Oyebamiji was welcomed by supporters who gathered along the route to welcome him into the state capital, arrival described as final campaign rally, a last push for support ahead of the poll.
The final campaign is expected to provide All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate with their last major opportunity to address supporters and convinced voters before the campaign period closes.
Penpushing further reports that Oyebamiji, flagbearer of All Progressives Congress (APC) is seeking to unseat the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke, who is also seeking re-election on the platform of the Accord Party.

Penpushing reports that All Progressives Congress (APC) has mobilised its national leadership and governors for the final campaign, with Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma and other party leaders.
The parties’ final rally comes against the backdrop of heightened security concerns surrounding the election, following a series of violent incidents reported in parts of Osun State during the election season.
Penpushing also reports that security agencies have repeatedly urged political parties and their supporters to avoid violence and allow voters to participate freely in Saturday’s election, while the election has increasingly narrowed into a contest involving the major candidates, with both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Accord Party (AP) stepping up their final mobilisation efforts across the state.
The team of Kimpact Development Initiative (KDI) a democracy, governance and civic technology organisation arrived Osogbo on Thursday in preparation for the monitoring of the governorship election.
Penpushing further reports that the organisation has deployed 389 observers and operational personnel which include Penpushing Media to effectively monitor the election, and will be available at all local government areas across the state.
The team will commence operations, with election day data room and remain operational through the immediate post-election period, with national and international experts drawn from electoral administration, election security, democratic governance, public policy, media, political analysis and research.
Penpushing also reports that the Abiola Akiyode-Afolabi led team called on political parties, candidates, security agencies, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials, media, civil society organizations and citizens to conduct themselves responsibly.
The body encouraged them to contribute to a peaceful, transparent and credible electoral process, and equally urged all political actors and their supporters to respect the rights of voters, refrain from violence, intimidation.
Penpushing reports that Akiyode-Afolabi, Associate Professor explained that the deployment reflects the organisation’s commitment to ensuring that citizens and stakeholders have access to credible and independently verified information on the conduct of the election.
The team comprises Abutu Yaro(Retired Assistant Inspector General) (Rtd.), former Deputy Inspector-General of Police and election security expert; Oluwole Osaze-Uzzi, former Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) Deputy Secretary and electoral administration specialist; Prof. Ernest Uchenna Ereke, Professor of Political Science and specialist in democracy, governance and political analysis; Maupe Ogun-Yusuf, senior broadcast journalist and media accountability expert; Vimbai Mutinhiri-Ekpenyong, Pan-African broadcaster and political communications professional; and Babalola Olusola, public policy analyst and veteran election observer with experience across more than 30 election observation missions.
