A Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) in Ogun State, Chief  Henry Tunji Fagbenro has threatened a court action against an online blog, ALIMOSOTV over alleged  libel and defamation of character

Penpushing reports that, Fagbenro who is the chairman of the party in Abeokuta South local government said he resolved to take the legal step, following report credited to the station that he (Fagbenro) was working against the interest of the party

‘I have been inundated with calls, text messages and chat about a totally false, illegal, malicious and meaninglessly concocted news fabricated by an unknown cobweb online blog, ALIMOSOTV with a disparaging piece of propaganda to malign my image in the public with a malicious news in the media’, he said.

Penpushing further reports that, contrary to the said publication, he had not in the last one month granted interview to any journalist or media organization within and outside Ogun State, stressin the online blog was being mischevious.

‘I want  to state unequivocally that, at no point did I grant press interview with any journalist both within and outside Ogun state in the last one month or speak at a public function on any issue especially things bothering on APC leadership  at any level. The write up was the imagination of its sponsor or the writer to pitch me against the party leadership’.

Penpushing also reports that, Fagbenro declared that, the malicious publication was a clear testimony that the station has subjected itself to a political tool in the hands of frustrated politicians

‘It is sad and totally disappointing for a news medium supposed to be harbinger of information, truth and objectives devoid of malicious, mischief and sensationalism, subjected itself to a political tool in the hands of frustrated politicians of recurring political failures through deceptive sponsored bloggers to begin to once again start their new journey into yet another vague political emptiness with lies, deceit and deception’.

‘One of course, pity the moral ugliness and journalism naivety that informed this arrant nonsensical, provocative, idiotic balderdash, professional journalism malfeasance, and deliberate character assassination from the publisher of AlimosoTV’.

‘I hereby, give the news medium 24hours to retract the publication with public apology or face legal sanction from a court of competent jurisdiction as I have instructed my lawyer to file a libel suit for defamation of my character’.

Penpushing reports that, Fagbenro urged all faithful of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)  in Abeokuta South Local Government and Ogun state in general to disregard the malicious publication.
