All passengers in an 18-seater bus were on Tuesday killed in auto crash which occurred at Njaba bridge in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State when the bus conveying them involved in the accident with a tipper.
Penpushing reports that an eyewitness account said the bus somersaulted because of the impact of the accident, adding that both the driver and two conductors were also killed in the accident alongside other passengers
The video clips recorded shortly after the incident showed residents attempting to rescue passengers trapped in the wreckage of the bus, while observation showed that many of the trapped victims appeared lifeless, while a few who showed signs of being alive were helped out by residents.
Penpushing further reports that another clip showed residents putting the bodies of deceased victims into a waiting Toyota Sienna vehicle for onward transmission to the morgue, while as at the time of filing this report.
Meanwhile, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Imo State, Anthony Uga, and the Imo State Police Command Public Relations Officer Henry Okoye, were yet to make any official statement on the incident as at the time of this report.
