The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed said he personally raised the sum of N150million to execute governorship election which brought in Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in Kwara State in 2019, lamenting that the Governor ended up  turning out an ingrate

Penpushing reports, Mohammed made the disclosure and allegation at the inauguration of a new state secretariat of the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) in Ilorin, the Kwara State Capital, stressing that the Governor is now biting the finger that fed him

The controversial Minister added that some elected federal lawmakers were also beneficiaries of his gestures, stressing that aside from the financial support he(Mohammed) distributed 500 motorcycles and 20 vehicles

“By the grace of God, I single-handedly, with the support of friends, politicians and families, raised all the money for all the elections we had in Kwara during that period, starting from the by-election that brought in honourable Raheem Olawuyi (Ajuloopin) as rep member’, he said.

“I challenge anybody here to say who gave the party one penny apart from what I gave them. The money paid to party agents and leaders to mobilise voters was raised by me.I challenge anybody here to say that he gave logistic support to the party, I did it by the grace of God.I distributed 500 motorcycles, 20 vehicles and many of the beneficiaries are here’,Mohammed added

The minister who hails from Kwara South, speaking about the controversial registration and revalidation exercise of the party in the state, which he earlier alleged in February marred by infractions ,assured that the exercise would be conducted again.

Penpushing also reports that, the Minister and the Governor have been at loggerheads after the Governorship election victory of the party following allegation and counter allegation from both sides

The Minister and some other party chieftains have  accused the Governor of sidelining them in his administration of the state, while the governor in his own allegation against Mohammed said there was move by the Minister. that he(governor) should use the state resource to reward party loyalty, which he bluntly declined
