The activist, Olamide Thomas, who was arrested over her social media remarks against President Bola Tinubu, has been reported slumped and rushed to Muhammadu Buhari Police Hospital, Garki, Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (FCT)

Penpushing reports that the lawyer of the detained nurse, Ernest Okpaga, was quoted to have made this known, explaining that Thomas suffers from asthma and peptic ulcer, adding that she had been bleeding since Monday

The counsel said as at the time of filing this report the activist was receiving medical treatment at the hospital, stressing that despite his client several complaints concerning her conditions, the police officers at the Nigeria Police Force Cyber-Crime Centre (NCCC) in Abuja, where she is detained, refused to provide her medical care until she slumped on Thursday.

Penpushing further reports that Okpaga said Thomas finished writing a statement shortly before slumping in an interrogation room of the Nigeria Police Force Cyber-Crime Centre (NCCC) on Thursday, recalling that he(lawyer) left the interrogation room after she finished writing her statement.

The lawyer added that he had barely got to the gate of the Nigeria Police Force Cyber-Crime Centre (NCCC) premises when he heard officers shouting his name to come back, and on return he was told Thomas had collapsed.

Penpushing also reports that it is recalled that Thomas, was arrested by the police last Friday at home in Shomolu, Lagos, and thereafter flown to Abuja and handed over to the Nigeria Police Force Cyber-Crime Centre (NCCC).

The activist had in a live-streamed video on her Facebook page on October 20,2024, shortly after she alleged of being brutalised by police officers during the #EndSARS memorial procession at the Lekki Tollgate rained curses on President Bola Tinubu, Inspector General of Police and Force Public Relations Officer

Penpushing reports that Thomas in the video was invoking divine power which included curses foretelling loss and tragedy against the trio, as well as and issuing severe condemnations directed at them

Meanwhile, the distressed activist was equally seen in the video pleading with bystanders to pour water on her head, seemingly after inhaling teargas.
