The Founder of Save Her Foundation and Human Rights Advocate, Reverend (Mrs )Fola Achudume has called on Nigerian Government and other stakeholders on need to ensure that People With Disabilities are incorporated into the scheme of things.
Penpushing reports that, Achudume made the call in a statement to commemorate the International Day of Persons With Disabilities, stressing that they should also be supported morally and psychologically with a view to giving them a sense of belonging in the society.
The Reverend at Victory Life Bible Church (VLBC), while calling for a collaborative effort to build a society with equal opportunities for all, posited that the non-functioning of any part of a human body should not be used to judge the mental and socio-economic ability of that individual.
Penpushing further reports that, Achudume pointed out that, the world will be a better place if everyone is treated with equal respect and honour, adding that God created every human being in His image for His glory.
The Reverend while urging the parents, relatives and People With Disabilities not to see their conditions as the end of the road, noted the need for everyone to maximise the opportunities at their disposal to make life worth living just as she charged well spirited individuals to extend hands of fellowship and love to those in need around them.
Penpushing also reports that, she noted that the theme for this year’s International Day of Persons with Disabilities which is “Transformative Solutions for Inclusive Development: The role of innovation in fuelling an accessible and equitable world” is a call to include everyone in every field of human endeavour irrespective of the person’s background and make up.
The founder of the Non-Governmental Organisation said, the development of technology and its accessibility have created unparalleled opportunities for People With Disabilities Inform and many of them can function perfectly when exposed to Information aand Communication Technology (ICT).
