A total of 16 persons were on Sunday involved in road crash along Abeokuta-Sagamu Expressway, and said to have being rushed to hospitals, following vary of injuries sustained, with one death recorded from the crash.

Penpushing reports the Public Education Officer of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Command, Florence Okpe made this known in a statement, explaining that the victims comprised of 10 male adults and 6 female adults

The Route Commander said the accident involved a Toyota Previa with registration number KSF145HN and Mini bus Toyota Avensus with registration number AAA301HN,adding that the suspected causes of the crash were  excessive speed which led to loss of control.

Penpushing further reports that, Okpe said investigations showed that both drivers were moving on the same lane but on high speed, adding that, as at the time of filing this report the injured victims were taken to Idera hospital Sagamu and some to  Federal Medical Centre(FMC) Abeokuta, while the corpse was deposited at Idera mortuary in Sagamu

‘10 people sustained injuries (06 male adult and 04 female adult) while 01 death was recorded from the crash a male adult. 02 vehicles were involved with registration numbers KSF145HN a Toyota Previa   mini bus and AAA301HN Toyota AVENSIS’, she said

‘The suspected causes of the crash were excessive speed which led to loss of control because both drivers were moving on the same Lane but on high speed. The injured victims were taken to Idera hospital Sagamu and some to FMC Abeokuta while the corpse was deposited at Idera mortuary’, Okpe added

Penpushing also reports that, the Sector Commander, Ahmed Umar has cautioned motorists on reckless driving especially in this rainy season where driving need a lot of concentration and using common sense speed limit ( defensive driving)

The statement added that, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) boss also advised motorists to obey traffic rules and regulations and consider other road users, as he commiserated with the family of the victims of the crash and advised them to contact  agency at Seun Zebra point  for more information about the crash
