A 79-year-old woman, Mrs. Adediwura Faturoti, has joined Kegites club alongside five others including a member of Indianapolis-Marion City-County, Vop Osili at a ceremony held in the United States of America (USA)

Penpushing reports that, it all happened at the crest unveiling ceremony of the club’s upcoming world gyration to also hold next year, in Indianapolis, Indiana, an event which brought together distinguished elders, fellows, dignitaries, and members of the Nigerian diaspora in a celebration that underscored the timeless values of the Kegites Club—peace, respect, and brotherhood.

The Indianapolis-Marion City-County issued a formal declaration in honour of Nigeria’s iconic socio-cultural organisation, the Kegites Club., and in the declaration, the county said it fully identified with the pivotal roles that the Americana Archaivar Plus Convergence and the Universal Archaivar Elders have been playing home and abroad since inception.

Penpushing further reports that the highlight of the evening was the official unveiling of the crest by Osili, a respected Democratic leader in Indianapolis, member of the City-County Council (District 11), and former Council President (2018–2026), who recently declared his candidacy for Mayor of Indianapolis in 2027.

The proclamation was signed by Osili and Yulonda Winfield, clerk of the Indianapolis-Marion city county, while the county presented an official Proclamation of Recognition to the Universal Archaivar Elders and the Americana Archaivar Plus Convergence.

Penpushing also reports that the county acknowledged the organisations’ outstanding contributions to cultural preservation, community development, and the promotion of unity within the diaspora—further cementing the significance of the occasion and the growing impact of the Convergence.

The county member in remarks after conferred as a Patron of the Kegites Club, marking a significant bridge between African cultural heritage and civic leadership in the United States of America (USA) praised the organisation’s impact and cohesion within the diaspora:

“What I witnessed here today is more than a gathering—it is a living example of unity, cultural pride, and intergenerational strength. The Kegites Club represents a model community where respect is earned, heritage is preserved, and people come together not just as Nigerians, but as one family. I am honored to be part of this journey’, he said

Penpushing reports that the ceremony also featured a deeply symbolic and inspiring moment as Faturoti, who was ‘fellowrised’ into the Convergence, demonstrating that the spirit of the Comradium transcends age and continues to welcome all who embrace its values.

The revered Chief of the Club, Chief Bosun Ajibogun adding  the voice of deep tradition and elder wisdom emphasised the enduring essence of the movement, stressing that the strength of the Kegites lies in its continuity

“The strength of the Kegites lies in its continuity—where elders guide, and the younger ones follow with pride. What we see here today is culture alive, not in memory, but in practice. This crest is not just a symbol; it is a covenant of unity that binds generations together’, Ajibogun stated

Penpushing further reports that the Board Chairman, Chief Adewale Fakorede, and the Grand Kord (Coordinator) of the Convergence, Patron Oluranti Dairo both expressed gladness at the development and promised to lift the club to greater heights.

The leader of the Archivar Elders, Basorun Deleola Fayth Daramola, reflected on the broader vision of the movement, stressing that what being built is beyond gatherings, and a legacy

“What we are building is beyond gatherings—it is a legacy. A convergence of minds, culture, and purpose that will outlive us. Today’s unveiling is not just about a crest; it is about identity, continuity, and the power of unity in diversity.”

Penpushing also reports that one of the most poignant highlights of the event was the presence of Chief Taofeek Gbolagade Rahman, a patriarch of the club, who honored the gathering with his attendance despite the passing of his nonagenarian mother just hours before his journey to Indianapolis.

“This Comradium is not just an association—it is family. Even in moments of personal grief, we showed up because this bond is sacred. My presence here is a testament to the love, commitment, and lifelong brotherhood that defines who we are’, Rahman stated

Penpushing reports that the event drew attendees from across the United States of America (USA), including New Jersey, where members traveled to be part of the historic occasion. Fellow Habib Akinyemi (aka Anobi Jersey) shared his experience:

“This is what unity looks like. From coast to coast, we came together not just to celebrate a crest, but to reaffirm who we are. The energy, the respect, the culture—it reminds you that no matter where we are in the world, our roots remain strong.”

“This moment is a testament to what is possible when vision meets commitment. Indianapolis has spoken, and the Convergence has only just begun. We are building something lasting—one that will continue to unite, inspire, and elevate our people for generations to come.”

Penpushing further reports that the Americana Archaivar Plus Convergence, under the umbrella of the Universal Archaivar Elders, continues to expand its cultural and social footprint across the diaspora, promoting unity, mentorship, and the preservation of African traditions. The unveiling of the 2026 crest marks another milestone in its journey, as it builds momentum toward future global engagements and cultural showcases.

The Coordinator of Indy Tent, Fellow Tola Adesuyi, delivering the closing reflection expressed gratitude and optimism for the future, stressing that the moment is a testament to what is possible when vision meets commitment

Meanwhile, the event concluded with vibrant gyrations, cultural exchanges, and renewed commitments to the ideals of the Comradium—unity, heritage, and legacy—beyond the one-finger salute.
