A member of the Federal House of Representatives, representing for Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency, of Ogun State, Engr Tunji Akinosi has announced the allocation of N700 million for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of schools in his constituency.

Penpushing reports that he disclosed this at a stakeholders engagement in Ota, explaining that the funds are part of the N1 billion zonal intervention fund granted to lawmakers, following an increase approved by President Bola Tinubu in December 2024—from N200 million to N1 billion.

The Federal lawmaker who highlighted the need for special status for his constituency due to its size and revenue contribution, emphasized the need for urgent educational infrastructure improvements which often make development efforts appear insufficient.

Penpushing further reports that Akinosi equally listed some of his achievements which include road construction and school renovations, financial support to over 2,000 people (N50,000–N100,000 each),as well as empowerment of another 2,000 individuals with tools for trading

The community stakeholders at the meeting urged both state and federal governments to recognize the federal constituency’s revenue significance and address its infrastructural deficits, and equally called for more equitable funding, considering the constituency generates the highest revenue for Ogun State.

Penpushing also reports thatOlota of Otta, Oba Yemi Obalanlege, and other leaders praised Akinosi’s efforts but encouraged broader political commitment to development and good governance.
