The Minister of Communication, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani on Thursday engaged the Ogun Tech Community on innovation and startups round table meeting towards charting a way forward in the technology advancement of the State.
Penpushing reports that the Minister at the meeting held at Mitros Residence Banquet Hall Government Reservation Area (GRA), Abeokuta promised to create an additional 300 jobs through tech-based investments for youths in the state.
The Minister pointed out that Ogun State has become a model for other states in the digital economy by channelling its investments into emerging technology ecosystems, adding that this encouraged the Federal Government to pay attention, and resolved to create more than 300 jobs through business process outsourcing, which would transform Ogun into a talent city.
Penpushing further reports Tijani, however, encouraged stakeholders, on the need to prioritise creating tech solutions for local business ideas to grow by integrating technologies, such as artificial intelligence, robotics drones into education and agricultural sectors to bring revolution to the future of the state.
The Minister assured that the Nigerian Government it genuinely determined to support any state, Community or group of entrepreneurs that braced up on technology towards expanding digital economy.
Penpushing also reports that earlier in his welcome speech President of Ogun Tech Community, Adekunle Durosinmi, expressed appreciation to Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun for creating a tech-friendly environment through the establishment of Ogun TechHub.
The President emphasized and expressed optimism that the future of technology had been made by his administration, with assurance that it will be sustained by collective efforts, affirming that the TechHub has redirected the careers of many youths in the state.
Penpushing reports that Durosinmi explained that this include helping companies, Tech entrepreneurs and startups to grow, and equally for more synergy between the government and Ogun Tech Community.
