The first media in Nigeria to begin radio broadcasting live on social media, known as ‘Street Voices’ is set to celebrate five years of existence in the educative and entertainment industry, scheduled to hold on Friday, April 4, 2025.

Penpushing reports that the Chief Executive Officer of the organization, Kolawole Adejojo popularly called Kasnaty made this known in an exclusive interview held at the corporate headquarters of Penpushing Media located in Leme axis of Moshood Abiola way, Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital.

The Managing Director of the establishment who started his broadcast career in 2002 recalled his journey into the media industry, explaining that he was at a time a music record seller at Sapon area of Abeokuta.

Penpushing further reports that Adejojo going memory lane said as at the time he was selling music records, he was been patronized by the late veteran radio broadcasters, Toba Opaleye and Gbenga Adeboye popularly called Funwontan in the broadcast industry.

The Chief Executive Officer of the ‘Street Voices’ explained that along the line, the duo of late broadcasters gave him advertisement slots at the Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation (OGBC), to further promote his business.

Penpushing also reports that he recalled that along the line he fell in love with broadcasting, explaining that at a point he was under the tutelage of Makinde Fasunle, another veteran broadcaster.

The initiator of the of the street radio said he was following Fasunle to studio to support his production and programmes, adding that at a time Fasunle gave him opportunity to present a programme, which eventually pave way for his regular appearances on the programme called ‘Odunyunga’, every Sunday on Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation (OGBC).

Penpushing reports that Adejojo explained that in the course of his broadcast journey he met Yemi Shonde another ace broadcaster who on identifying his (Adejojo) skills and passion gave him full support to encourage him.

The popular Kasnaty said Shonde as his boss did not stop there, but also sponsored him to Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) Broadcasting College for academic pursuit, which he admitted added value to his performances

Penpushing further reports that on completion of his course, Shonde recommended him to Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Abeokuta, to handle a programme at the station, adding that in same vein, he found himself at Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation (OGBC) presenting a chit chat programme.

The Company boss recalled that it was in the course of his programme presentation at Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation (OGBC), that the instinct to introduce a town hall radio programme came, which he said attracted number of participants being the first of its kind.

Penpushing also reports that he explained that the town hall radio programme tagged,’Kasnaty and Radio Presentation on Stage’ was designed for members of the public to attend, and see how radio operations look like, adding that it ended as a successful story in his career.

The initiator said as a result of his passion for the profession on April 4, 2020 he launched the first ever live street radio production through social media, which aims and objectives were to bring plights of the needy, particularly the less privileged to the attention of the world and proffer solutions.

Penpushing reports that Adejojo disclosed that since introduction of the programme called, ’Street Voices’, it has turned misfortune and sorrow of many people to joy, adding that the journey has taking him to 44 towns/villages in Sout-West of Nigeria

The Chief Executive Officer explained that the lockdown during coronavirus pandemic was a blessing in disguise for the programme, explaining that as media practitioner who was essential worker, as allowed by the law, took time to move round in conducting social media live interview to x-ray plights of the residents and challenges being faced during the period.

Penpushing further reports that he recalled and disclosed that one major interview she did with an aged woman at Ago-Oba area of Abeokuta, shoot up the popularity of the ‘Street Voice’ programme, adding that when listeners and viewers weigh the pathetic story of the woman, she received massive support from within and outside Nigeria, adding that today the woman is happily living with her children

The ‘Street Voices’ initiator who could not hide the success story of his broadcasting journey and positive impacts the programme has recorded in the lives of the people, explained that the aged are not left out in dishing out gestures to them.

Penpushing reports that as at today the company engaged the aged in picnics to give them sense of belongings in the society, while many of them have been empowered and support their businesses, cash gifts are always extended to them as well.

The Company Director disclosed that he recently introduces another stable into the programme, which is focused on unveiling yesteryears musicians and bring them back to limelight after sharing their stories.

Penpushing further reports that he expressed joy that this new introduction has been yielding positive results, as number of now popular artiste who passed through the veteran entertainers have been coming forth to support them at their old age
