Twenty-Eight suspects operating a Ponzi scheme has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Minna, Niger State, having collected between $790 and $850 (approximately ₦1,462,000) from their victims as a registration fee and for product purchases.

Penpushing reports that the Zonal Directorate of the commission confirmed the development adding that the suspects were arrested at a three-bedroom apartment in Al-Bishiri Talba Estate, following a tip-off on fraudulent investment activities under the guise of a network marketing scheme.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) stated that the suspects operated a company, Q-Net Ltd, which they claimed to be affiliated to companies in Dubai, India, Indonesia, and Thailand.

Penpushing further reports that the agency explained that as at the time of the raid, some of the suspects were receiving lectures on Ponzi scheme operations, disguised as network marketing.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) disclosed that items recovered from the suspects included Q-Net application forms and other incriminating documents, adding that they would be charged to court after investigations.
