The Committee for the Defence of Human Rights, CDHR, has called for immediate arrest, investigation and prosecution of the Olorile of Orile Ifo in Ifo local government area of Ogun State, Oba Adewale Ogunjobi, who allegedly humilated a 73 year old man, Elder, Arinola Abraham Love.
Penpushing reports that National Vice President of the Committee Comrade Yinka Folarin accompanied by other officials made the call on Monday at a press conference held at the headquarters of the committe still under construction located behind conference hotel, Oke-Mosan Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital.
The Committee in same gave a 72 hour ultimatum for the Ogun State government to sack the traditional ruler, warning that failure to do that will attract massive protest by the membership of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights(CDHR)
Penpushing further reports that the committe alleged that the monarch is notorious for numerous criminal and nefarious activities including attempted murder and public assaults,just as it called on the Inspector General of Police to investigate him, for the murder of one Morufu Gbadamosi which happened in January and allegedly linked to him.
The Committee for the Defence of Human Rights(CDHR) in similar vein petitioned the Inspector General of Police to investigate all missing persons in Orile Ifo since the ascension of Ogunjobi whose reign was described as terror within the community.
Penpushing also reports that the victim who was at the press conference narrated his ordeal with the traditional ruler, explaining that he had been indoor for almost a year nursing the injury sustained from a domestic accident and was on his way to buy food items before he was attacked by the monarch, stressing that he was still at lost about the offence he committed which warranted been attacked.
The pale looking victim explained that he had to cry for help because the traditional ruler is notorious for kidnapping and torturing members of the community, explaining that he has no business with the monarch and has never engaged in any business with him
Penpushing reports that it is recalled that a viral video footage showed the traditional ruler assaulting aged man, as he dished out instructions to his driver and one of his chiefs who slapped the victims severally and ordered to prostrate on bare floor, having accused him of allegedly betraying him over a chieftaincy title in the community.
