The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) has commended training of officers of the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission, (LACC) holding at the Commission’s Academy in Karu, Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (FCT)

Penpushing reports that the Head, Media and Publicity of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), Dele Oyewale made this known in a statement adding that the four-day training started on Monday, January 13, 2025.

The statement explained that the training, which focuses on Financial Crimes and Investigative Report Writing, is designed to strengthen and deepen the capacities of officers of Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission, (LACC) for broad-based investigation and analysis of different types of financial crimes.

Penpushing further reports that Executive Chairman of the agency Ola Olukoyede in a welcome address to the trainees emphasized the optimal importance of knowledge and training, stressing that knowledge is better than physical strength.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) boss declared that he believed that the coming of the trainees is to acquire necessary skills that will give them acceleration in their career and to handle their job effectively.

Penpushing also reports that Olukoyede represented by the Commandant, of the Academy, Deputy Commander Chinwe Ndubeze assured the participants of the academy’s capacity to deliver their expectations from the training.

“Knowledge is better than physical strength; therefore, I believe that your coming here is to acquire necessary skills that will give you acceleration in your career and to handle your job effectively. Considering the competences of the resource persons assigned to train you here, we hope that your quest will be achieved at the end of the Course”, he said.

Penpushing reports that Head, External Cooperation Unit of the commission, Assistant Commander Aliyu Wali in his remarks, explained that the training underscores the importance of regional collaboration in our collective fight against corruption and financial Crimes.

The Assistant Commander pointed out that international cooperation especially within the African region has proven to be a powerful tool in combating trans-national financial crimes, stressing that the training is not just an opportunity to enhance investigative skills but a vital platform to exchange ideas, strategies and best practices that can strengthen collective efforts.

Penpushing reports that leader of the Liberian officers, Dr Miatta Jeh on behalf of the delegation thanked the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC’s) management and the Nigerian government for the training and hospitality.
