The Nigeria’s security chiefs will on Wednesday and Thursday appear before the lawmakers in the country at the national assembly to discuss the worsening insecurity across Nigeria, and possibly for solutions to the menace.

Penpushing reports that the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and other Financial Institutions, Adetokunbo Abiru, made this known on Tuesday, while those expected to appear include the Heads of the Army, navy, Air Force and the Police.

The Senate it is recalled, last Tuesday, summoned service chiefs to appear before the lawmakers over the rising case of insecurity in the country, following almost daily cases of killings and kidnappings by different armed groups across the country.

Penpushing further reports that a recent case was the killing of two traditional rulers by armed bandits, a development which brought tears to the face of a lawmaker from the state at the plenary of the national assembly.

The family of a kidnapped 16- year undergraduate, Abul-Mugniy of Airforce Institute of Technology Kaduna in a related development have passionately called for assistance from public in raising fund to save the life of the boy who have been captivity of abductors over two months ago.

Penpushing also reports that it is recalled that the boy, a 100-level student of the institute was kidnapped on December 28, 2023 alongside a couple Mr and Mrs Popoola, he resident with at National Eye Centre Staff Quarters in Kaduna.

The boy and the couple as at the time of filing this report are still in custody of the kidnappers who have been demanding N150million before they could regain freedom, with a threat that the more the family delay payment, the abductees risk being kill

Penpushing reports that the mother of the boy, Baliqs Folaranmi who came to the corporate headquarters of Penpushing Media in Abeokuta, explained that the kidnappers called regularly to get the ransom, adding that after series of plea they reduced the expected ransom to N100million.

The worried mother said the latest contact the kidnappers made to the family was on February 3, 2024, asking the family how far about the money, with a threat to deliver the ransom early on time to avoid wasting lives of the victims.

‘The kidnappers called me regularly asking for the payment, they earlier put it  N150million, but after lots of appeal they reduce it to N100million. Infact the recent call from them was on February 3, 2024, asking for the money before it get too late’, she added

Penpushing also reports that the woman said the family, resident in Abeokuta had sold almost all properties to meet up the financial demand of the kidnappers, lamenting that, what the family raised was still far from N100million demand of the kidnappers.

The mother of the boy, however, passionately begged individuals and cooperate organisations to come to the aid of the family, in support the fund raising to be donated into the account of the father with the name Mutairu Adisa Folaranmi(UBA number 1026725096), adding that the family can as well be contacted on 08034627111 and 08124356012
