MTN Nigeria debunks death of staff during gunmen attack in Imo state

The management of MTN Nigeria said on Wednesday that non of its staff were victims of the gunmen attack which claimed two personnel of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and two other individuals in Imo State

Penpushing reports that the clarification was contained in a statement by Senior Consultant of a consultancy agency of the firm, Blossom Deji-Folutile adding that the telecommunication organization remains committed to the safety and security of its staff across the country.

The statement, however commiserated with the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and grieving families over the loss, which also include two other individuals, stressing that MTN can confirm that no officials of the establishment were hurt during the incident

‘MTN Nigeria is is deeply saddened by the recent killings of two personnel of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and two other individuals in Imo State. Our hearts go out to the families of the victims and we express our sincere condolences to them’, Deji-Folutile wrote.

‘Whilst we empathise with the grieving families and the NSCDC affected by this tragic incident, we wish to correct the reports that two MTN officials were also killed in the incident. We can confirm that no MTN officials were hurt during the incident’, the statement added

Penpushing further reports that Deji-Folutile said the management will continue to work with relevant authorities towards the safety and security of its staff, customers and communities of its operations across the country

‘MTN Nigeria remains committed to the safety and security of our staff in all our operations across the country. We place the utmost importance on the safety and security of our staff, customers, and the communities in which we operate, and will continue to work with relevant authorities in this regard’.
