The German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) has organized a 2-days Private Public Dialogue and Advocacy workshop for selected private sectors stakeholders in Ogun , aimed down to intercept every risk and challenges facing all business stakeholders in the state

Penpushing report that, Ogun State Coordinator for German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), Steven Dada in his speech explained that the program is majorly centered on how to improve the quality of participation of private sector representatives in the state.

The coordinator, who noted the lackadaisical attitude of some private sectors, explained that German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) is making frantic efforts towards ensuring that the private sectors are better organised

Penpushing further reports that, Dada commended the organizations, which include: Ogun state Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (OGUNCCIMA), Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Nigerian Association of Small Scale Industrialists (NASSI), ASBON, Ogun State Cooperatives Society Federation (OSCOFED) among others for participating in the workshop which will be to their advantages

The coordinator stated that, the workshop was to teach them on how to be more proactive in advocacy and how to use the public-private dialogue as a strategy and means to achieve whatever they want to achieve in a better logical and strategic manner.

Penpushing also reports that, Dada  said the private sectors can use the opportunity provided to lobby and tell the government to come to their aid, adding that it was expected that after the training, the beneficiaries should extend such knowledge to others that could not make the training .

“We are taking representatives from this groups and we expect that they will go back to their constituency and begin to tell them about the PPD and its benefits. It is not a one off training or program but we believe that with adequate capacity building they can also be able to mobilize on their own’, he said
