The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN) Godwin Emefiele, has formally declared his interest to run for the office of the President, but it was not clear if he has resigned from to run the race.
Penpushing reports that Emefiele made the announcement known to journalists shortly after his meeting with President Muhammad Buhari at the State House, Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory(FCT), adding that he would soon pick his N100 million nomination form under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC)
The emergence of Emefiele has attracted support from some groups and also generated condemnation from many quarters, arguing that he is expected to resign as Governor of Central Bank(CBN) before joining the race
