Suspected Fulani herdsmen mid-night of Sunday launched a bloody attack on Igangan community in Oyo State, killing scores of residents and set ablaze number of buildings and properties.

Penpushing reports that, at least as at the time of filing this reports severely hacked and bloodied human bodies were seen on the floor, while sources informed that, the violent attacks were carried out while residents were asleep.

The palace in the town and petrol station were allegedly razed by the bandits as revealed in circulating video, while a survivor of the attack was heard lamenting over the sad development, and declared that, the attack was a sign of commencement of war in the country

“These are human bodies on the floor. This is what Fulani has done to us. This is the beginning of a war. For those still believing there is no war, they are wrong, this is a war, and enough of silence by Yoruba leaders’, the survivor emphasised.

Penpushing further reports that, it is recalled that, the community had accused Sarkin Fulani, Abdulkadir Salihu of masterminding kidnapping, rape, destruction of farms and abduction by his kismen, and was subsequently ejected from the land alongside his kinsmen

The youth leader of the community, had equally raised alarm that after the ejection of Sarkin and his men, he had repeatedly received message from Salihu’s camp that, the Fulani would retaliate for how they were sent packing from the community.
