6.2million Nigerians complete online voter pre-registrations, says electoral commission

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday disclosed that more than 6.2 million Nigerians completed their online pre-registration for the Continuous Voter Registration during week six of the exercise.

Penpushing reports that the commission made the disclosure in the figures published on its official X handle and website, which showed that a total of 6,232,673 pre-registrants were recorded between September 22 and 28, 2025.

The data showed that of this number, 3,250,338 were female, representing 52.15%, while 2,982,335 were male, accounting for 47.85%, as well as youths aged 18 to 34 continued to dominate the process, with 4,230,715 registering within the period.

Penpushing further reports that in same vein, the data showed that students made up a significant portion with 1,565,824 entries, while persons with disabilities totalled 137,865.

The data indicated that Borno State emerged at the top with the highest number of pre-registered individuals, recording 682,805 entries, followed closely by Osun State, which posted an impressive 599,363 registrations, while Lagos State recorded 555,442, securing the third position.

Penpushing also reports that Kebbi State registered 472,662 individuals, ahead of Ogun State, which logged 450,897, while Kaduna State recorded 376,054 entries, trailed by Kogi state with 298,194 and Kano state with 290,690.

The data showed Yobe State with 258,693 registrations, while the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) recorded 227,397. Oyo State recorded 205,660, with Jigawa state recording 196,234, as well as Zamfara State with 150,388 entries.

Penpushing reports that Katsina state has 123,773, with Sokoto state having 118,043, while Delta state with 117,922 followed by Kwara States 117,783, and Bauchi with 112,664.

The data stated that Ekiti State has 98,317, followed by Cross River state with 92,850, and Niger State followed with 91,034, as well as Gombe state at 72,661, Plateau recorded 69,215, while Imo had 64,266.

Penpushing further reports that Akwa Ibom state had 50,758 entries, followed by Benue state with 42,189, Taraba state with 40,952, Bayelsa state 36,173, Adamawa state 29,735 and Rivers state with 26,865.

The data showed that at the lower end of the spectrum, Ondo state recorded 14,388, Edo state 10,278, Ebonyi state 6,935, Abia state 5,225, and Enugu state recorded the lowest pre-registration figure nationwide at 5,092.

Penpushing also reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) explained that 1,004,132 Nigerians completed both online and physical registrations in week five, covering the period from September 22 to 26, 2025.
