Former Ogun State Governor and Senatorial Candidate of All Progressives Congress(APC), Ogun East Senatorial District of the state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel on Sunday launched a mega rally to seek support of voters ahead of the 2023 general elections
Penpushing reports that, Daniel at the rally held at Akarigbo Palace premises in Sagamu, also used the opportunity to campaign for the Presidential Candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, stressing that both of them will contribute meaningfully to the welfare of Nigerians if voted into power.
The candidate who rolled out his manifesto of service, did not leave out Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun in soliciting vote for him, for his ambition for a second term in office, stressing that he (Daniel) would encourage individual development and competitive talents hunts for the overall growth of the society if elected.
Penpushing further reports that, Daniel at the rally empowered number of lucky winners, who won prizes which include Agricultural Tractor worth about N10 million, Toyota Highlander SUV Jeep, 2.5KVA Generator in a draw organized by his campaign team.
The former Governor in his speech assured that the empowerment programs will continue as the campaign machinery traverse the length and breadth of Ogun East Senatorial District, stressing that he would encourage local production and consumption in all ramifications, to sponsor relevant bills from comprehensive advocacy with stakeholders and residents through town hall/virtual meetings and sessions in the senatorial district
Penpushing reports that, he said he would revamp Nigeria’s education system through curriculum changes that meet international and global best practices, noting that this will reduce emphasis on certificated education
The candidate pointed out that, an education system that is tailor made for development science education should not focus on thesis, but invention, adding that primary and secondary education should not be on scores and grade but in identifying individual talents, skills set and potentials of students while channeling them towards identified needs of the society
Penpushing further reports that, Daniel itemized number of bills he would sponsor for the benefits of the populace, and would also work towards ensuring creating of jobs to tackle crimes, if elected as senator
The rally was graced by thousands of residents within and outside the senatorial district, as well as notable chieftains of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), which include Olawale Edun, who came to represent the party Presidential Candidate
