10 killed on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway auto crash

Ten persons were on Tuesday killed and eight injured in a ghastly auto crash at ileke- Ayetoro, opposite Chi Company along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway
Penpushing reports that the crash which occurred at about 5.30am involved Iveco Truck,Orange colour with registration number KRA 80 XA and Hiace bus,Grey colour FKY 898 YF, as eyewitness account said  the Hiace bus  rammed into the moving truck from the rear with excessive speed.
The Public Relations Officer of Ogun State Traffic Agency Babatunde Akinbiyi who confirmed the fatal accident explained that 18 occupants were involved with one of them unhurt, adding that the dead as at the time of filing this report had being deposited at  Idera morgue in Sagamu town of the state while the injured were taken to Famobis hospitals in lotto by Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC)
Penpushing further reports that Akinbiyi said traffic was  initially affected and later cleared by  joint team of Ogun State Traffic Agency, Federal Road Safety Corps and Police, assuring as at the time of filing this report  that both  bounds are free now and normalcy has been restored.
The agency spokesman in the statement added that the Hiace Bus is a Gombe Mass Transit  Bus, coming from Gombe State to Lagos,stating that due to excessive speed and poor visibility the bus rammed into a moving truck from the rear killing  ten occupants onboard the bus, including the driver
Penpushing also reports that Akinbiyi explained that from all indication, the driver should have driving all through the night which also has its own risk like fatigue, drowsiness, poor visibility among others,adding that the agency management commiserate with the families of deceased, and  drivers are again admonished to avoid night travel in view of it’s attendant consequences.
