The Oyo State Police Command has, confirmed the arrest of four suspects as well as the killing of two others during a rescue operation involving Busola, sister of former Minster and her two children in Ibadan.
Penpushing reports that the Commissioner of Police Oluwagbemiga Abimbola confirmed this on Sunday while conducting journalists round the three-bedroom bungalow building where the abductees were kept by the kidnappers.
The Commissioner added that they were smoked out from the building where they were hibernating, disclosing that firearms, including a pump-action gun, were recovered during the Saturday night operation.
Penpushing further reports that he stated that the police acted on a tip-off, which eventually resulted in the rescuing of the victims, adding that the operations lasted for several hours at the Ayegun area of Oluyole Local Government Area of the state.
The source, however, added that there was a shootout during the operation in which two of the suspects were killed in a midnight raid, stating that aside from the four suspects that were arrested, other suspects escaped with bullet wounds
Penpushing also reports that it would be recalled that Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, was on Wednesday abducted by the gunmen alongside her 12-year-old twin sons at Elewura-Challenge in Ibadan South-West Local Government Area of the state.
The abduction was carried out by armed attackers who were said to have trailed the vehicle conveying the victims from their home before flagging them down at about 7:30 a.m. at the scene of the incident.
